“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.” (Deuteronomy 6:5-9).
The Lord commands us to love him with all our heart and that love requires action. Drimbolg RPC is acting on its love and desire to spread God’s kingdom this week by holding its annual Holiday Bible Club from 25-28th June with the help of a GO Team. The team consists of Rueben McCollum, Jessica Boyd, Victoria Boyd, Hannah Kelso-Mason, Thomas Jemphrey, and Rachel Jemphrey. The team has been integral to the work in Drimbolg. Additionally, the team appreciates the assistance they have received from a collection of volunteers who have helped make the running of the Holiday Bible club easier.
Drimbolg GO Team is split into two different age groups: 4-8 year olds and 8-11-year olds. The younger age group has an attendance of around 30 and the older age group has an attendance of 20 children. This amounts to a total of 50 children altogether!
Each night the children play games in their age groups before gathering for juice, biscuits, and singing. After which, the children split again into their groups for a talk, memory verse, and workbook activities. Daniel has been the focus of the talks this year and each night enthusiastic volunteers deliver the work of God in a way that the children can understand. All those involved in the GO Team and Holiday Bible Club hope that the children leave this week knowing more about God and their need to have a relationship with him.
Please pray for the continued safety of the children when playing games. There have been a number of small cuts and scratches but nothing serious. Pray that this blessing from God would continue.
Pray for those leading talks and memory verses that they would be equipped with the right words and presentation to relate to these children and show them their need of God within their lives.
Pray for the children, that they would continue to attend, have fun, and settle to listen to God’s word as the main aim of the Bible Club is to stir a desire in these children to know God as their Lord and Saviour.
The team asks for all these things in the name of Jesus Christ, that his will and work be done to God’s glory.
